Summary

Since 1984 I’ve been treating children, adults, couples, and families in my private clinic in Ra'anana. I’m bilingual in English and Hebrew, with certifications from both the US and Israel. My clinic is a center for lectures and workshops on topics related to the quality of life of children and their families.

I'm married with three adult children and am a grandmother to very cute grandchildren.

More info about my education, expertise, and approach is below.

Education

  • 1975 - B.A. Psychology | Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Dean's List)
  • 1977 - M.A. Educational Psychology | Queens College, New York
  • 1992 - Certification in Family and Marriage Therapy | Revadim Institute, Netanya, Israel
  • 1990s - Mediation: Business Mediation by Dr. David Silvera, Family Mediation by Dr. Susan Zaidel
In order to widen my diagnostic and therapeutic expertise, I have over the years completed extensive training in the fields of individual and family play therapy, therapy techniques for children, and learning disabilities. I’ve participated in many post-graduate seminars and in this way I have acquired a wide range of skills to treat a wide range of children's difficulties. My play therapy training was done under the mentoring of Dr. Shlomo Ariel, Israel’s leading expert in this field.  I am acknowledged in the book he wrote. From 1990 to 1992, I received training in family and marriage therapy at the Revadim Institute, Netanya, and was certified by the Israeli Association of Family & Marriage Therapy in 1992.

I trained to be a mediator, first in business mediation by Dr. David Silvera, and then in family mediation by Dr. Susan Zaidel in the 1990s.

I’ve had advanced training on the subject of  "neurological developmental functions in learning disabilities" which included the diagnosis and treatment of sensory sensitivities, by Rami Katz, a leading expert on this subject.

Professional experience

In the U.S., before my immigration to Israel, I worked for three years as a school psychologist in New York City schools, some private, some public.

After my immigration to Israel, I worked for seven years in the municipal Psychological-Educational Clinic of Kadima, and received much appreciation for my work with teachers, kindergarten teachers, and parents.

In 1984 I received my title of Educational Psychology Specialist from the Israel Ministry of Health and since then I have managed my private clinic in Raanana.

I was the coordinator of the Beit Issie Shapiro Learning Disability Clinic, Raanana, a center for children with developmental delays, 1987-88,  on behalf of the Ministry of Education.

I have been a guest lecturer on various topics related to children and families, and my professional articles have been published.

In 2012, I became an active member of an amutah (non-profit) called "Divorcing Peacefully" which promotes the idea that divorcing couples should do so out of court, in an amicable respectful manner, for the wellbeing of their children. The non-profit is composed of attorneys, therapists, and economics professionals all dedicated to the wellbeing of families.  I believe this is the right and best way for children in the family in divorce cases.

Therapeutic methods and approaches

I have a comprehensive view along and work with a multi-system approach and a wide range of treatment tools.

While my psychological-educational clinic is run only by me, my approach with children is a team approach. In order to deal with the problem in all its complexity, I deal with the various systems in which the child is part (family, school, community) in order to maximize positive aspects of his environment and promote maximum healthy development. This usually involves working with teachers & special education staff and coordinating the treatment plan with other professionals who are helping the child. When I approach the child's difficulties, all aspects of his life are taken into account and I assess their effects on the child’s difficulties. We get to the root of the problem as well as to the factors that keep the problem going today. My comprehensive outlook, multidisciplinary approach, and wide range of treatment tools contribute to my high success rate in treating my clients.

I'm the child's advocate in all the systems he's involved in.
